We made a relaxed start today to allow for any sleepy heads after yesterday's long travel day & the time change, then began our sightseeing with a half-day tour of the Banff & Canmore area.
Our excellent guide today was Patrick, a Canmore native, who introduced us to not only his home town & Banff but also the areas around with some truly stunning scenery. Along the way he regaled us with tidbits of Canadian history, terrible jokes, & local insights into Alberta's economy, politics, & much, much more.
The afternoon was free to explore Banff town or simply enjoy a leisurely lunch, & after our return to our hotel the evening was at leisure - to return to Banff, to eat at our hotel, or to explore the culinary delights of 'downtown' Canmore.
Tomorrow: The Bow River Parkway & Lake Louise
